Grounds Maintenance Services
By Snoe Leppard

My husband works at the local lawn tennis club as a coach and he has coached some really fantastic players in his time. Although none of them have reached Wimbledon standards as yet, they have still gone on to do him proud in competitions across the country. Unfortunately at the moment, the club`s courts are looking decidedly bad and my husband as asked if he could get some Grounds Maintenance Services in to have a look at them and try to make them better. He knows a few Grounds Maintenance Services people and he told the tennis club that it would not necessarily cost very much at all. However, the club have told him that they cannot afford Grounds Maintenance Services at the moment and, in any case, they don`t believe that the courts are in a bad enough state to warrant it. My husband cannot believe this and, I must say, I have never seen him so angry. As he says, the money they charge for membership means that they are in a very lucrative position and he thinks it is totally false economy on their behalf. I hope he manages to change their mind, for his benefit and the benefit of his pupils.

Gardening is a rewarding pastime enjoyed by many people. Many houses have gardens attached and allotments are often available for those people not fortunate enough to have a garden. Some people choose to grow vegetables for their kitchen table in their gardens whilst others prefer to grow flowers or shrubs. Gardening can also be hard work, with lots of bending and lifting involved. Gardens need to be maintained on a regular basis if they are going to look their best and this level of involvement can be difficult for some people. People in wheelchairs can now purchase wheelchair garden beds to help make gardening easier for themselves. Wheelchair garden beds are similar in design to a table, they have legs and a flat surface sitting on top of these legs. The difference is that the flat surface is trough like and can be filled to a reasonable depth with soil. Many different plants can be grown in this soil and the wheelchair garden beds will all be easily accessible for all users due to the carefully measured height of the raised beds.
